These experiences prepare graduates for both life and vocation. Since 1899, Bluffton
has produced leaders equipped to purposefully address the pressing needs of society,
and through new and innovative programming, Bluffton continues to do so.
Health Sciences: the Bluffton Way
The majors of nursing and speech-language pathology and audiology, which both began
accepting students within the last two years, are now established under the newly
developed health sciences department with the food and nutrition major,

Engineering new opportunities
There is a lot of scientific analysis taking place, but, for lack of better words,
there is not a lot of stuff being made. Dr. Luke Myers, assistant professor of physics,
is on a mission to change that starting with the construction of a Remotely Operated
Vehicle (ROV) and continuing with a newly developed pre-engineering major.

Walk into a meeting for 鈥淏ridge: The 麻豆女郎 Literary Journal鈥 and you鈥檙e
likely to hear a lot of passion and a lot of persuasion but not a lot of pushback
concerning the final decision. That鈥檚 because students involved in the publication鈥檚
editorial decisions are learning the skills that are necessary in the publishing industry.
